It was early Saturday morning and Sheila was still in bed, staring at the ceiling. A cool breeze flowed over her from the open window and she was acutely aware of how it felt. She could feel it lightly caressing her body, gently grazing her skin. Sheila sighed because, yet again, she was waking up alone.

Last night had been fun. Sheila had met up with a large group of friends at a dance club. She loved to dance and the music at this particular club was just her taste. While most of the girls in her group had boyfriends on their arms, there were still a few that were single. Sheila and two other singles spent almost the whole night on the dance floor while the couples gradually paired off into secluded corners to kiss and cuddle in the candle light. Sheila wasn't bothered by the behaviour but, most of the time, she longed for someone of her own. A few cute men had asked her to dance and, like always, she had accepted. It's hard to get to know someone in the thumping noise of a club, though, so the interest quickly fizzled. Bars, pubs and clubs in general were absolutely not the best dating services. By the time Sheila had climbed into a cab to head home, she had resolved to find other ways to meet eligible men.

Yawning, stretching and still very aware of the demands of her body, Sheila decided to get up and get working on her resolution. "First stop - internet dating services!" she vowed to herself. After a quick shower, Sheila slicked her wet hair into a ponytail, put on a pot of coffee and turned on her computer. As she poured some cream into her cup and added some of the piping hot brew, Sheila began to feel a bit of apprehension. She had never used any kind of dating services - not even blind dates arranged by friends - and she was a little worried about the stories she'd heard about on-line dating sites.

Walking to the desk, she made up her mind that she simply wasn't going to be alone forever. Taking the bull by the horns, she opened a search engine and typed in "dating services" and her local area. She thought she'd try to be specific about her desires by looking for other singles she could actually meet in person, if they seemed compatible. "And the last place we'll meet will be in a bar!" she said out loud, as if to give herself the conviction of her plans. After a big swallow of coffee, Sheila set down her coffee and clicked on the first search engine result. Her thoughts were in motion and there was no looking back.
